It features all hardcore dancehall songs that cover themes of disloyalty, hypocrisy/bad mind, and love for the streets.
The producer, Sonovic, said that the idea to name the rhythm came while he was creating the beat.
"At the time, the Delta variant was a new strain of the COVID-19 virus, so it was really a marker to remember the riddim," he said. He added that he chose the artistes for the project based on their lyrical ability.
"The selection of artistes was based upon hardcore lyricists who could deliver songs equivalent to the impact of the Delta variant strain. So I link artiste like Chronic Law, Daddy1, Jahshii, Malie Donn, and a few young up-and-coming [artistes] like Kant10t, Alloh, Tactikal, Tishaine, and more," he said. Singles include Chronic Law's 6ix Variant and Malie Donn's Another Brick, which are both described as 'grimy'. Sonovic, who hails from Seaview Gardens, St Andrew, started music production in 2015 with the release of Dexta Daps' Love the Money.
Since then, he has released the single Public Figure by Daddy1 and Squash; the 'Real-Time' rhythm, which features Dexta Daps' No Underwear single; and the 'Hightime' rhythm, featuring Jahvillani's Clarks Pon Foot.
